Here's a brief walkthrough of the PlayTV interface on the PlayStation 3. We'll start with the PlayTV Guide and work our way around. PlayTV will be priced around £80.
PlayTV Guide
- The guide is received through the antenna
- Shows basic information on the program
- Title, Category, Synopsis, and Actors
- Holds information for 7 days into the future
- set up recording of an upcoming program during the week
PlayTV Live TV
- Streams audio and video
PlayTV Library
- Ability to record audio (mp3) or video (mpeg-2)
- No DRM restriction
- you can use the files on any device
- backup the files on any device
- Adds tag information
PlayTV Schedule
- Setup a scheduled recording
- daily, weekly, or monthly
- Cannot setup season passes like Tivo
PlayTV Settings
- Change language
- Subtitles
- Storage options
- Quality to be transmitted to PlayStation Portable
PlayTV Manual
- The manual is accessible on PlayTV, you also get a printed copy.
PlayTV Find and Record
- Search for a keyword and PlayTV looks through the Title, Category, Synopsis, and Actors.
